· Broker links – work with Broker Liaison on addition of VIP Brokers and

HONORS / AWARDS
Delta Mu Delta Honor Society (2004)
This national honor society recognizes scholastic excellence of
business majors in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Membership
is limited to no more than 20 percent of the junior, senior, and
graduate classes. Having maintained a GPA of 4.0 throughout my M.A.
degree, I was accepted in the honor society in 2004.
Lambda Pi Eta National Communication Honor Society (2004)
Lambda Pi Eta is committed to recognizing and encouraging individuals
seeking a lifelong commitment to an exceptional standard of ethics and
achievement within the communication field. It is the longest standing
national communication honor society in America. The men and women who
qualify for membership in Lambda Pi Eta have distinguished themselves
with notable achievement in the field of communication. I was initiated
into Lambda Pi Eta in Spring 2005.
Edward Payson & Bernice Piilani Irvin Scholarship (2004-2005)
The scholarship honors Bernice Pi'ilani Irvin, a friend of Queen
Lili'uokalani. Bernice authored a collection of Hawaiian tales called
"In Menehune Land" and a popular weekly column for the Honolulu
Advertiser, and later for the Honolulu Times, which was edited by her
husband Edwin Irvin. The Irvins set up this trust fund to benefit
students who, like Bernice, have their eyes set on a career in
journalism. I was awarded the scholarship for 2004-2005.
Robert E. Black Award for Excellence (March 2004)
The Robert E. Black Award for Excellence annually recognizes one
graduate student and one undergraduate student who has demonstrated
excellence by his or her non-academic accomplishments and service in
both the University and the community at large while attending HPU. I
was the Robert E. Black award graduate recipient for the year 2004.
USAA National Collegiate Communication Arts Award (January 2004)
Less than 10% of all students are qualified to become a member of the
United States Achievement Academy. Each year, the Academy receives the
official nominations from faculty across America. Dr. Helen Varner, Dean
of HPU’s College of Communication nominated me for this award in Spring
2004, and I won a grant for 2004/2005.
HPU’s President’s Host (Inducted on October 2003)
The President’s Host program acknowledges students who excel
academically, and are active in student clubs, and who best exemplify
the spirit, diversity, and mission of HPU. I was inducted as President’s
Host in Fall 2003 and have since represented the University at various
social and business functions throughout the year.
