Loneliness
Can you feel it inside you,
Gnawing,
nibbling,
feeding,
leaving nothing;
but a hollow of emptiness.
Can you feel its grip around you,
Tightened by the hour,
by the minute,
by the second,
sparing nothing;
but the air you breathe.
It is in moments like these,
Drowned by the crowd,
deafened by the traffic,
lonely but not alone,
that you will feel;
its Presence.
